RELAY FOR LIFE
Can I get a Relay!!!!

These are the famous words of our Team Captain, Pam Gould.

And boy, did we have a Relay!!! Our team consisted of 21 registered members and a host of members of a support team. We were on a mission and that was to see how quickly and how much money we could raise for the cause of researching, educating, and assisting those who are experiencing cancer at this time. We got a late start, but with our returning team members, and our awesome new team members, we have turned in over $7,700 already. This will go far in the efforts to find a cure.

It behooves the team members to say a big ―Thank You to everyone who supported us through this effort. Many of you made homemade ice cream for us to sell at relay, donated strawberries, other goodies, cooked turkey legs, sausage, grits, just so many things too numerous to mention. Many of you purchased bows, luminaries, cards, shirts, etc. Roger, Daphne and Wayne were our cooks. The support team is as important as the registered team members. Let me just say...the team had a wonderful time under the ―big tent‖ during the night and early morning of May 14th and 15th. Some of our team members made lots of things for us to sell and for that the rest of us say ―thank you‖. It was hard work but worth it!!! Just ask Joe Armstrong about moving tables and chairs!!! Also, ask Pam about the crutches she ended up needing. Once again, Jamie Mullins painted a team banner that took first place in the banner competition. We also won 2nd place for our relay theme. We were the ―Buckaroos. Kim Wells assisted our Team captain in many ways and the rest of us appreciate her help.

When the final total is compiled, we will report the final sum that was donated to the relay. They receive money for this year’s relay until August 31, 2010.
