Key Verses in being a faithful steward of our Lord
1 Chronicles 29:11-12 - Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your
kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything, riches and honor come from you alone,
and you are the Ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might, and it is at your
discretion that men are made great and given strength.
Proverbs 22:7 - Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.
Philippians 4:11-13 - I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know
how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity…I can do all
things through Him who strengthens me.
Acts 20:35 - Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, “It is more blessed
to give than to receive”.
Proverbs: 21:20 – The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he
gets.
Proverbs: 22:6 – Train a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart
from it.
Colossians 3:23-24 - Whatever you do, do you work heartily as for the Lord rather than for
men… It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Proverbs 3: 27-28 – Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power
to act. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow” when you now have
it with you.
Luke 14:28 – Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and
estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?
Psalm 50:14-15 – Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High;
and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.
