Pastor's PageAs I write this article for the newsletter, I am continuing to reflect upon the challenge we all received from the Honduras Mission team report. It should make each of us ask the question: What is the purpose of Oakdale Baptist Church? Each of us could answer it from a personal perspective, because church life has been a vital part of what we are becoming! The true answer is one that comes from the Bible, and we call this the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20). We must not just sit and soak, but we are to go and tell. We are to tell that Christ is the hope of the world. Jesus the Christ was born and lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, and rose from the grave on the third day! When someone puts his or her faith in Christ, then we baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The work in not finished yet, until we teach them all things concerning Christ. Discipleship is not how much you may know about Bible trivia, but it is about transformation. Discipleship has only been accomplished when the evangelized becomes the evangelist. I hope you will accept the challenge to go and tell the Good News of Jesus Christ to your circle of Friends, Relatives, work Associates, and Neighbors this week. God bless you, Bro. Larry |
